1996: The creation of Armitec, an industrial adventure in Saint-Père-en-Retz
In 1996, Jean-Louis Mellerin founded Armitec in a 400 m² workshop located rue de Bégueneau, in Saint-Père-en-Retz, with a staff of only three people.
Aged around thirty, its founder had a deep desire for entrepreneurship after starting his career dedicated to industrial maintenance. Following a market study carried out with the support of the Chamber of Commerce, Jean-Louis Mellerin and associates created Armitec, a company specializing in maintenance, repair of machined parts, boilermaking and tailor-made mechanically welded solutions.
From the outset, the objective has been clear: to remain versatile in the professions, a DNA which will continue in 2026.
Armitec has distinguished itself by its ability to design and build complex structures for industry and to carry out projects in their entirety. The company has been able to combine artisanal know-how and technical innovation, thus laying the foundations for sustainable growth. It has supported its development on its quality policy with an A-Iso-9002 certification process since the end of the 90s.
With new hires and machine investments, the premises in Saint-Père-en-Retz quickly became too cramped and a solution was sought to adapt the production tool to the growth of the company.
Today, Armitec continues to offer complete industrial solutions, ranging from design to manufacturing and on-site integration, including maintenance, boilermaking and precision machining.
